2-07 Hopping to Technical Mount

When you use the no handed arm drag, you force your opponent’s arm across his body by applying pressure with your chest. If you can time it correctly, you can let your opponent move his own arm out of position by hopping to technical mount when he attempts to shrimp out of mount. The coordination necessary for this technique is simple, but timing it correctly is critical. Aim to float your hips slightly as your opponent rotates so that you can drop into technical mount. When you use this technique in a match, couple it with a cross face for the best results. If you want to funnel your opponent into shrimping to your right, use your right forearm to turn his chin to your right so that his only option is to shrimp the direction that you want him too.
